I went up the lane quite cheerful
Poet Georgia Hilton uses Limerick schoolgirls photo for her book cover.

Out of the blue, I got an email from Georgia Hilton, a poet in the UK. Georgia grew up in Limerick and had written a few poems about her childhood for her new collection. She was hoping to use one of my photographs 'Limerick Schoolgirls' for the cover of her poetry pamphlet. I was only too happy to oblige. Her collection is available from the publishers dempseyandwindle.com. You can also read one of her poems, 'Garryowen'.
I first came upon your photos through a Google search for black and white images of Limerick City. Yours were by far the best I found - so striking, and of the right time period, it was absolutely a no brainer!
